ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Aug, 2017 ) : The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has reiterated to continue the Kashmiris' struggle for securing their right to self-determination till settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per relevant resolutions of the United Nations and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
KMS reported that, the resolve was reaffirmed at the APHC executive council meeting, which was held at Hyderpora in Srinagar with Syed Ali Gilani in the chair. The participants observed that Delhi-based National Investigation Agency had no role in occupied Kashmir.
"India is using this agency as a war weapon against the leadership and the traders' community to defame and discredit the freedom struggle," the APHC said in a statement issued in Srinagar after the meeting.
The meeting discussed NIA raids, legal challenge to Article 35A and detentions of pro-freedom leaders. The APHC has 23 executive council members of whom 15 could attend the meeting. Five leaders of the Hurriyat Conference - Altaf Ahmad Shah, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar, Nayeem Khan and Merajuddin Kalwal - are in judicial custody in Delhi.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah is also detained in New Delhi.
The participants of the meeting debated the steps that need to be taken at this crucial juncture following the NIA raids. "The meeting observed that the NIA was being used to crush the freedom movement of J&K, as it was used to grant bail to Colonel Purohit of Indian army involved in carrying out bomb blasts at Malegaon in Maharashtra.
On Article 35A, all the members were unanimous that the right to self-determination was the basis of the freedom movement," the statement said. In his address, Syed Ali Gilani while rejecting the Indian stand on Kashmir said, New Delhi is occupying Jammu and Kashmir purely through its military might.
He urged the APHC members to forge close and intact relations with people to apprise them of the deceit of pro-India politicians on Article 370 and Article 35A. "It is better for them (pro-India politicians) to repent for their wrongdoings and join the people's movement.
They should apologize for the miseries they have inflicted on the Kashmiri people," he said. Meanwhile, both sons of Syed Ali Gilani reached New Delhi to report back at NIA headquarters where they are being unnecessarily questioned.
