Curfew-hit students flay decision to hold exams in IOK

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Sep, 2016 ) : Puppet administration of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) has been criticized for announcing dates for annual examination of 10th and 12th classes.

Experts criticized that the decision could put students in a state of depression as the educational institutions continue to remain shut due to continued curfew and other restrictions for the past three months in the occupied territory.

The authorities on September 23 announced the dates for holding annual exams of classes 10 and 12 from second week of Novembe, KMS reported on Thursday. "The (puppet) administration has put the students in a fix.

Since the students have not attended their schools for over two months, they won't be in a position to appear in the exams," said Muhammad Faheem, a parent from Srinagar. Parents of many students castigated the puppet administration for forcing exams on students and said it should take into account the number of days under curfew before counting the lectures attended by students.

Due to the prolonged curfew and restrictions, students even couldn't go for private coaching. Children were blinded and hit by pellets with the result the students couldn't dare to venture out for private tuitions, they added.

Meanwhile, lambasting puppet education Minister Naeem Akhtar and the PDP-BJP led coalition for its dictate to students to appear for board exams in November, many students of various private and government schools protested in Srinagar against the victimization of students for political interests.

Carrying placards that read "We are ready to sacrifice our future for Kashmir" and "No exams till Kashmir issue is resolved", students mostly from high and higher secondary schools assembled at Soura locality in Srinagar and raised slogans against the puppet administration.
