Dir Women Unprecedentedly Cast Thousands Of Votes

The women in Upper and Lower Dir districts wrote a new balloting history by polling large number of votes for the first time after 1977 elections.
TIMERGARA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2018 ) :The women in Upper and Lower Dir districts wrote a new balloting history by polling large number of votes for the first time after 1977 elections.
As per official result, in NA-5 Upper Dir 67,995 women cast their votes which was a matter of surprise and pleasure for the local people as after 1977 the constituency had never seen women polling their votes especially in such a large number.
In constituency PK-10, Dir-1, the official results showed 22594 women voted in favor of their party candidates.
In PK-11, Dir-2 an unprecedented turn out of women voters was 21372 while in constituency PK 12 Dir-3 the number of votes polled by women remained at 23777.
The election 2018 which has shown the people some unexpected results with defeats of powerful political personalities, the participation of women voters in such a large number in Dir Upper and Lower districts has also become one of its features.
Women voting in Dir upper and lower districts were considered as taboo owing to conservative local traditions and some time as result of settlements between the political parties.
