District Peace Committee's Meeting Held To Review Muharram Arrangements

LARKANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -29th Sep,2016) : Deputy Commissioner Larkana, Jawed Ali Jagirani Thursday directed all the concerned district officials to extend coordination between all stake holders including religious scholars of all sects and district administration to ensure the peace and harmony during the forthcoming Muharam ul Haram.
This he said while presiding over a meeting of District Peace Committee(DPC) in connection with to review the maintaining of law and order during holy month at Conference hall of DC office here.
The meeting was attended by Wing Commander Shahbaz Rangers Larkana Lt. Col. Asim, SSP Larkana Kamran Nawaz, Assistant Commissioners of Larkana, Ratodero, Bakrani and Dokri, besides a large number of religious scholars of Shia and Suni sects attended the meeting and exchanged their ideas and highlighted the issues.
The DC Larkana urged upon the Officers / Officials of Police and other law enforcement agency that all out efforts should be made to ensure the law and order situation and beef up the security measures during the Muharram-ul-Haram and expedite the Police Patrolling and keep strict vigilance on activities.
In this regard, more Police pickets should be set up near the Imam-Bargahs, Mosques and roads leading to central mourning procession. He also urged upon the Ulemas of both sects that they should realize their religious obligation and be united and create brotherhood atmosphere during the days.
He directed the Taluka Municipal Officers of various TMOs of the district and the officials of NUSUSC Larkana that they should ensure the street lights and cleanliness in their respective areas during the days.
Citing the issues of unannounced load shedding by SEPCO(WAPDA) during the Muharram days, Deputy Commissioner Larkana asked the Officers of SEPCO (wapda) of the district to ensure the Electricity during the Muharram-ul-Haram days.
He also urged upon the district and regional heads of different departments that they should established control rooms in their Offices and the telephone numbers of control rooms may be sent to Deputy Commissioner Office Larkana without any delay.
He also asked the DHO Larkana and Medical Superintendent CMC Hospital Larkana to ensure the medical camps near different Muharram Procession routes to provide the medical aid to azadars and the hospitals with Medical Officers and Paramedical staff may open round the clock during these days.
SSP Larkana affirmed that supremacy of law would be upheld and violator of aw would be dealt with an iron hand. He warned that anyone trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere during Muharram would be apprehended. During the meeting the ulemas of both sects assured of their full Co-operation in this regard and presented their problems in the meeting.
