Govt Ready To Provide Security To Political Leaders: Minister

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2018 ) :Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Ahmed Waqas Riaz Thursday said that there were threats to different political leaders who had also been informed and the Punjab government was ready to provide maximum security facilities.

Talking to media persons here, the minister said that it was also the duty of political leaders to minimize their movement and make secure themselves as well.

He said that acting government had already taken necessary measures in that regard and main leaders were being provided box security.

The Minister said that implementation on the code of conduct given by the Election Commission was the basic duty of the present government and it would be implemented without any discrimination.

Ahmed Waqas Riaz took part in tree plantation along with journalists outside Qaddafi Stadium where he also planted a sapling.

He said that awareness should be created among the masses to plant maximum trees for the betterment of environment as it would also help in decreasing temperature.

He lauded the role of print and electronic media in this regard.

Earlier, Minister Information Ahmed Waqas Riaz attended the award giving ceremony of Public Art and Literary Society as chief guest in which different personalities relating to the art and culture were given shields.

Executive Editor Al-hamra Capt. (R) Atta Mohammad Khan, Society President Maqbool Chohan, Anwar Rafie and the grand-daughter of Sufi Tabbassum and important personalities attended this function.

Talking there Ahmed Waqas Riaz said that encouragement of such persons relating to art and culture was much important and these activities should go on.

He announced Rs 1 million donation for the Society from the Information & Culture Department.
