Independence Day celebrations continue in Balochistan

The 71st Independence Day's celebrations are in full swing in Balochistan and people are participating with full zeal and enthusiasm

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Aug, 2017 ) : The 71st Independence Day's celebrations are in full swing in Balochistan and people are participating with full zeal and enthusiasm. According to an ISPR handout issued here on Thursday, sports events were organized in 71st Independence Day Sports Festival which was organized in this connection.

Men's boxing final matches and closing ceremony of were held at Pakistan Sports board Hall, Ayub Stadium. A total of 3 fights were played. In category of 52 kg Noor Ali (BSB) won his fight. In 56 kg Abdul Samad (BSB) and in 60 kg Mohibullah (Quetta) were the winners.

Mehboob Ahmed Shahwani was the chief guest on the occasion. In men Athletics events, 3000m men final was won by Mr Anil from Quetta. Whereas 100m men final was won by Attaullah from Zhob. 400m rally race was won by Quetta city.

Quetta City were declared overall winners of Athletics events. Tahir Mehmood Khan was Chief Guest at the occasion. Hockey final was played at Ayub Sports Complex between Bolan Kings and Chiltan Sarawan.

Bolan Kings won the match by 3-2. Dr Shakeel Roshan, President Alhamd Islamic University was chief guest on the occassion.

Whereas former international player, Zulfiqar Ahmed was present as Guest of Honour.

Badminton finals were played at Magsi Hall Ayub Sports Complex. Badminton final in Single Individual catagory was played between Faraz Ahmed and Zain Lodhi which was won by Faraz. Munawar Hussain, Director Sports Board Balochstan was the chief guest at the occasion.

Meanwhile in Women events, final of Inter College volley ball tournament was played at Government Girls Degree College Quetta Cantt. Final match of womem cricket was played between Jinnah Town Girls College and Brewery Road Girls College.

Brewary Road Girls College comfortably won the match. Chief guest member of National Women Cricket Team gave away prizes. And Finals of Women Athletics were played at Musa Sports Complex. Ms Razia from Brewery Road Girls College won first prize in Shot Put, Discus Throw and Javelin Throw.

Whereas in 100x400m rally race Brewery Road College stood first. Brewery Road Girls College secured overall Winner Trophy. APP/arb/ahn
