Int'l Conference Concludes With Recommendations For Energy, Environment And Sustainable Development

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : The participants of 4th International Conference on 'Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development' have called upon the industrial based countries of the world to review their environmental policies.
They also called upon to utilize alternate technologies for energy production in order to meet the challenges of environmental and climate change. The two day international conference organised by the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro in collaboration with Energy and Environmental Engineering Group was concluded on Thursday.
Prof. Dr. Ghulam Rasool Maher of Mehran University who presented the recommendations on behalf of the participants of the conference demanded the industrial based countries to apply the technologies of hydro, wind, solar and biomass for energy production.
The participants also demanded these countries to prepare environmental friendly policies and economically viable procedures for the larger interest of the people.
The participants also expressed their concern over declining of water resources and underlined the need of preparation of such development projects which could complete with minimum use of water so that the available water reservoirs could be protected and ensured to reach every citizen.
The participants also emphasised the need of reclamation of water and treatment of used water so that the same could be utilized for different purposes. The participants also called upon the civil society to launch mass awareness campaign for controlling the environmental hazards.
They also appealed the investors to make their investment on energy and environmental projects. The Vice Chancellor Mehran University Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili while addressing the concluding session informed that the 5th international conference on the same subjects would be held in 2018 at the MUET.
He said that the recommendations of the participants would be sent to concerned government institutions for implementation in effective manner.
