Int'l Literacy Day Marked In Sukkur, Khairpur

Walks, seminars and other events were held in different towns of Sukkur and Khairpur on Saturday in connection with International Literacy Day.
KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Sep, 2018 ) :Walks, seminars and other events were held in different towns of Sukkur and Khairpur on Saturday in connection with International Literacy Day.
In Sukkur, a large number of students, teachers and NGO activists took part in a walk from Minara Road High school to the local press club.
The participants were carrying placards inscribed with slogans about the importance of literacy. They vowed to join in a struggle for the promotion of education in the country.
District education officer Abdul Aziz Hakro, District Officer Primary Education Nuzhat Bukhari and others spoke to the participants.
Teachers and students of the New London Cambridge School, Y2K School and Innovators School took out a rally to mark the day.
In Khairpur, several walks and programmes were held in city and other parts of the district to mark the day. The main event was organised by Inter Global Human Development Society in collaboration with the district education office.
