KP Govt To Hold Biggest Youth Carnival In Current FY: Atif Khan

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is holding the country's biggest youth carnival during the current fiscal year (FY) to showcase the talent in youth.
Senior Minister Atif Khan said this while chairing a meeting here, to finalize the arrangements for the carnival, he added that the funds allocated and approved for the carnival has been enhanced from Rs 65 million to Rs 80 million.
The meeting also approved to extend youth centres to 25 districts of the province and set the deadline of June 2019 for the completion of the centres.
The Minister warned that no lethargy would be tolerated in execution of the project and said he would inaugurate the centres by stipulated time.
The meeting approved Youth Welfare Endowment Fund Act and Youth property Management Act besides issuing directives for activating youth hostels in Chitral, Naran and Peshawar.
So far the provincial government has held the event thrice in 2013, 2015 and 2016 very successfully, and now mulling to expend the carnival horizon from the Regional to Provincial level and then to national level by increasing the scope of competitions areas.
The aim of the event is to assess and promote the hidden potentials of the youth as per the contemporary needs, strengthen the unique and competent skills of the national youth by creating a learning and competitive environment enabling them to cultivate their career and success.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the provincial government wants to establish a link between youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and youth of the whole of country for peace building and Youth development.
It also provides opportunities to develop brotherhood and exchange of culture and above all help to establish coherence among youth.
He said certainly youth are the future builders of the nation such event should pave the way for future youth programs through building coordination and lesson learning, Atif added.
In the previous events the youth competed in the events including drama, thematic Art, painting, Calligraphy, Short Film, urdu Singing, English singing, Pashto Singing, Cultural Dance, Music Band, Qiraat, Spelling Bee, Sell-It, Na'at, English Declaration, Urdu Declamation, Urdu Essay Writing, Pashto Essay Writing, Bait Bazi, Quiz Competition, business Plan, Ad Making,Stand Up Comedy, Extra Ordinary/Unique Talent, Console Gaming (FIFA-2017),Chess and Spot Photography.
