KP Govt To Take All Parliamentary Parties On Board: Tarakai

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (LG&RD), Shahram Khan Tarakai on Friday assured the opposition that all the parliamentary parties would be taken on board over the budget 2018-19.
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Oct, 2018 ) :Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (LG&RD), Shahram Khan Tarakai on Friday assured the opposition that all the parliamentary parties would be taken on board over the budget 2018-19.
He was responding to the speeches of opposition legislators over provincial budget 2018-19 in KP assembly here. The assembly resumed debate on provincial budget with Speaker Mushtaq Ghani in the chair.
The provincial minister said that opposition was creating impression being met injustice. But, he said assured no injustice and taking all parliamentary parties into confidence over the budget.
He said that the budget is not the personal property of anyone rather is for the whole province. The obtaining of two-third majority is the result of the best performance of the previous PTI government in the province.
The provincial minister said that the speeches of the opposition were limited to only criticism. But, there were also some good things in it, which would be proved with the passage of time.
He said that they had delivered during the previous provincial government, which was rewarded by the electorates by giving us two-third majority in the provincial assembly. He said that the opposition is comprised of experienced parliamentarians and they also take benefit of their expertise.
Mr. Tarakai said that provinces have 70 percent budgetary dependence on Federal government and this time the same political party is in power both at federal and provincial level and they are confident that the federal government will fulfill the needs of the province.
He said that the provincial government is planning for increasing revenue generation while Sehat Insaf Card is a national level project. He agreed with the proposals for including more diseases in the scheme.
Criticizing the treatment given by the previous PML-N led federal government, he said it was making lame-excuses and using delaying tactics in provision of funds for burn centre, which they had established with their own resources.
He said that people are certainly facing hardship due work on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, but will not compromise on the quality of work.
He said that Swat Motorway will be completed by the end of the current year or in January 2019.
He said that they are making efforts for promotion of tourism in Malakand and Hazara Divisions and have revived 77 closed industrial units.
He assured that district Karak will be given royalty on gas, which is their right while tribal area is also part of the province and they are working for its development.
Earlier, the opposition legislators in their debate on budget complained of injudicious allocations of funds in the budget and ignoring of backward areas of the province. The opposition also accused the provincial government of failure in achieving revenue targets.
The opposition legislators termed the performance of the provincial government in health and education sectors as disappointing and termed the budget as merely jugglery of words.
