Local PTI's Leadership Supporting Iftikhar Hussain Shah As Independent Candidate

After denial of party's ticket, the local leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has invited former Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah to contest forthcoming general elections as independent candidate from both provincial and national assembly seat.

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2018 ) :After denial of party's ticket, the local leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has invited former Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah to contest forthcoming general elections as independent candidate from both provincial and national assembly seat.

On the request of his well-wishers and party's workers , Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has submitted his nomination papers as independent candidate from PK 82 and NA 32.

District Nazim Kohat, Naseem Afridi, District Councilor Sajid Iqbal , Major Farooq, Zaman Shinwari, Tehsil Councilor Tahir Nabi and Malik Nabi and District Councilor Mir Wais have announced their support to Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah after a detailed meeting in which they discussed emerging political scenario and forthcoming elections.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has given National Assembly ticket to Shahyar Afridi and provincial assembly PK 82 ticket to Ziaullah Bangash but overwhelming majority of party's workers are not happy over the decision and they announced to support Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah.

It has also been decided in the meeting to bring independent candidates from PK 81 and PK82 after consultation with party's workers.

It may be recalled that recently a delegation of JUI-F and Awami National Party also met with Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah and invited to join their parties.

Syed Iftihar Hussain Shah has not yet announced his political carrier but sources within the party confirmed he would contest election independently.

He has already kicked-off his election campaign by visitingvarious areas of the city and notables announced their support to him. Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah is popular figure of Kohat and launched many developmental projects in Kohat city when he was Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
