Man Held For Killing His Daughter In Islamabad

The Homicide Unit of Islamabad Police have arrested a person allegedly involved in killing of his daughter in name of honor here in `Khana Dak' area, a police spokesman said

ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 19th March, 2019) The Homicide Unit of Islamabad Police have arrested a person allegedly involved in killing of his daughter in name of honor here in `Khana Dak' area, a police spokesman said.He said that Superintendent of Police (Rural) Muhammad Umer Khan received information that a 18 year old girl Ghanwa Jabeen d/o Yunus resident of Khanna Dak mysteriously died few days back and the family hurriedly shifted the dead body to native village in Chakwal for burial.Following this information, SP (Rural) constituted a special team on directions of DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed to investigate into the matter.

This team including DSP Ch. Abid Hussain, Inspector Homicide Unit Anees Akbar, Station House Officer of Khana police station Sub-Inspector Nur-ul-Salam, Sub-Inspector Muneer Ahmed and other launched investigation keeping in view the possibility of honour killing by family.

The police team succeeded to unearth the facts and statement of mother of deceased also ascertained the claim that Ghanwa Jabeen was killed by her father.

Police have arrested Yunus who confessed during initial interrogation that he suspected the girl's character and subsequently stabbed her to death on March 12, 2019.Police have recovered the clothes of the girl having blood on it.

Further investigation is underway into matter. DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed has appreciated this performance and directed all police officials to resolve the crime cases of heinous nature on priority basis. NNI
