Ministry To Hold Science Expo In January For Motivating Young Scientists

ISLAMABAD, Dec 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Dec, 2018 ) :Federal Ministry of Science and Technology will arrange Science Expo in the month of January at the newly established Science and Technology Park of Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) in Lahore.
The Science Expo cum conference was earlier scheduled in the month of December however, delayed due to certain reasons, an official of the ministry told APP.
The science expo will provide a platform to the young and professional scientists to gather at a place and share the emerging science trends and innovations which are vital to adopt for the country to progress and prosper, the official said.
The official informed that Senate Standing Committee on Science and Technology in its meeting also stressed to arrange Science Expo in the country on regular basis so that young and aspiring scientists and science lovers can learn from each other's experiences.
Considering this sector as a backbone for any country's progress, the meeting noted that the country is lagging behind in science and technology sector with a very low pace development and meager budgetary allocation.
Progress in science and technology sector is vital to provide employment, alleviate poverty and contribute to economic diversification, the meeting noted.
The official informed that the science expo will showcase different latest scientific products, instruments and other inventions by the local scientists and researchers which would help create a link between these innovations and the relevant industries.
Such activities will also motivate the young aspiring science lovers to develop interest, adopt this field and achieve excellence as well as help commercialize research and development in the country, the official observed.
