ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : Pakistan's renowned mountaineer Hassan Asad alias Hassan Sadpara will be shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Tuesday for treatment of blood cancer, Karrar Haidri, the spokesman of Alpine Club of Pakistan said on Monday.
"The government has assured to bear all the treatment expenses of Sadpara. Hence we've decided to shift him to CMH for better treatment," Haidri told APP. Sadpara was brought to a private hospital in Rawalpindi last week for treatment.
His son Arif Hassan Sadpara had appealed to the government to take care of his medical expenses. Haidri said that the government was in touch with the family of Ali Sadpara and a couple of days ago Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb dispatched a bouquet of flowers to the ailing national hero on instructions of the Prime Minister.
"The minister in the message has said that the government acknowledges that Sadpara is a national pride and he will be provided full support for medical treatment," he added. Hassan Ali Sadpara hails from a small village of Sadpara, some seven kilometres from Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan.
He is the first Pakistani mountaineer to have climbed six high mountains, including the world's highest peak Everest (8848m), K2 (8611m), Gasherbrum I (8080m), Gasherbrum II(8034m), Nanga Parbat (8126 m) and Broad Peak (8051m).
