National Action Plan Effectively Controls Terrorism: Gen (R) Abdul Qayyum

Senator Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Lt General (Retd), Abdul Qayyum Thursday said that Pakistan had controlled militancy and terrorism through national action plan (NAP).
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2018 ) :Senator Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Lt General (Retd), Abdul Qayyum Thursday said that Pakistan had controlled militancy and terrorism through national action plan (NAP).
Due to NAP, peace had been restored in Karachi, North Waziristan Agency, Balochistan and other parts of areas, he said while talking to a news channel. National unity, political stability and collective efforts would help strengthen economy of the country, he added.
It was also the responsibility of politicians, media and other segment of society to work for the national interest, General (R) Qayyum said.
Commenting on the geo-political situation, he said anti-Pakistan lobby was active in the United States to cease China Pakistan Economic Corridor and other development being carried out in this region, he said.
America wanted to keep its presence in Afghanistan to check Central Asian States, Pakistan and China, he added. To a question about appointment of Pakistan's envoy to US, he said there was no harm to make political appointment there. A visionary person having political acumen could tackle the current situation in this region, he added.
