Pb Cabinet Pays Tributes To Services Of Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Aug, 2017 ) : The meeting of the provincial cabinet led by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was held here on Tuesday, in which rich tributes were paid to the services of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
The meeting approved a consensus resolution with regard to the national-services of Nawaz Sharif for taking solid measures for strengthening economy as well as taking sincere efforts for the end of energy crisis.
The meeting was told that four years tenure of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was a golden period in the history of the country. New records of speedy developments were set during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif and the people were given relief in the real sense.
The meeting accorded approval to investment under Section 9-A of Punjab General Provident Investment Fund Act 2009. After the approval, Punjab general provident investment fund would also be able to invest on long-term basis and this step would result in increasing the volume of the fund.
It also gave approval to handover the adjacent land of old Central Jail Rawalpindi to the Ministry of Defence. It was approved to give land for the establishment of research cum-experimental farm in district Khanewal.
The meeting approved the proposal to grant ownership rights of seven, seven marla plots as well as to carry out the development work in the area. The Cabinet approved the transfer of land in district Jhang for the establishment of 1200-megawatt new gas power plant by the Punjab government.
Similarly, it granted approval to give land for National Counter Terrorism Center Pabbi. It also endorsed the agreement between Lahore Ring Road Authority and Defence Housing Authority for the transfer of land of Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that the credit of sufficiently decreasing the load-shedding goes to the untiring efforts of Nawaz Sharif.
Under his leadership, Pakistan Muslim League-N government worked day and night for the elimination of energy crisis during the last four years.
The establishment of three 3600-megawatt gas-based power projects in Punjab was a bold initiative of Nawaz Sharif and these projects have not only help decreased load-shedding but are also useful in providing cheap electricity to the consumers.
Shehbaz Sharif said that these gas-based projects have been completed in a record period of 20, 20 months and added that no other example wass available in the world history with regard to setting up of gas-based projects with such speed.
The promise of the PML-N leadership made with the people to overcome load-shedding during the general elections of 2013 was about to be fulfilled. The Chief Minister said that Punjab had faced severe attack of dengue and due to the collective efforts of different public sector departments, administration, political colleagues as well as the people, we succeeded in overcoming this epidemic.
"We had no prior knowledge about this epidemic when it spread in the province. We succeeded in overcoming the dengue disease from Punjab with hard work and in the light of this experiment as well as a gesture of goodwill; the experts of the Punjab government have provided their cooperation to deal with dengue in Peshawar".
He said that team of experts of Punjab led by Provincial Health Minister Kh. Imran Nazir had done a wonderful job to deal with the epidemic of dengue in Peshawar. The meeting appreciated the performance of Provincial Minister Kh.
Imran Nazir, Secretary Health and the whole team for doing a wonderful job in Peshawar. The Chief Minister said that construction of roads from farms to the markets under Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme was a masterpiece and the construction and rehabilitation of rural roads has brought revolution in rural life.
