PFA Seals Various Food Points, Impose Rs 223,500 Fine

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2018 ) ::The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has sealed different food points and imposed Rs 223,500 fine on them over poor quality material, cleanliness arrangements and unhygienic conditions.
In line with special directions of Director Operations South Punjab, different food safety teams conducted raids in various cities of South Punjab. During the raids in Multan, food safety teams imposed Rs 76,000 fine on different food points over poor cleanliness arrangements, use of unhygienic oil, staff in improper clothes and other violations.
The teams conducted raids in DG Khan and sealed Almadina Sweets and Bakers over use of sub-standard material in food items and poor cleanliness.
The teams also imposed fine worth Rs 132,500 on different food points.
In Bahawalpur and Lodhran, food safety teams imposed fine worth Rs 15,000 on various food shops over violation of food department's standard operating procedures (SoPs) regarding quality and cleanliness.
The teams also wasted 400-kg bad quality vegetables, 2000-kg bakery items, 1,100-litre unhygienic drinks and prohibited china slat. On the other hand, warning notices have been issued to many food points to ensure cleanliness arrangements and sale of best quality food items. APP/ifi/rsd
