PPP Govt leads in women empowerment programme: Minister

Pakistan Peoples Party government has initiated various programmes for women empowerment under the vision of Shaheed Mohatarma Benazir Bhutto and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Nov, 2017 ) :Pakistan Peoples Party government has initiated various programmes for women empowerment under the vision of Shaheed Mohatarma Benazir Bhutto and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Sindh Government was taking concrete and targeted steps in this regard at different levels in every sector, said Sindh Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah in a statement here on Wednesday.

The Minister was speaking at Soft Skill and Vocational Training joint initiative taken by the Paxi Pink Taxi Service in collaboration with the IAct and Habib Foundation at Malir Saudabad here. He appreciated the Paxi Pink Taxi Service that the system would be extended to other areas of Sindh down to districts level to provide the commuters modern and rapid service at affordable rates.

He assured that all possible cooperation and facilitation would be provided to all the companies launching transport facilities.

Nasir Shah said that for empowering women, such taxi service, being driven by educated talented women pilots, was a practical step.

Earlier, Chief Executive Officer of Paxi Pink Taxi Service, Shaikh Muhammad Zahid, Chief Operating Officer, Arif Khan, Head of Projects Institute of Advancing Careers and Talents (IACT), Faheem Bokhari, first-ever women pilot of Taxi, Kiran Rao, Salman Ellahi of Pakistan Blind sports Association highlighted the one and half month training course for the women pilots including life skills, personality development, customer services, personality grooming besides learning of English language and First Aid techniques.

Paxi and Government of Sindh has already signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) to extend such service and to launch more projects across the province.
