ISLAMABAD, Nov 2 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd Nov, 2016 ) : Adviser to the Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui Wednesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) did not want any investigation into Panama papers and it was only doing politics on the issue.
After wasting six months of the nation in his politics of agitation and protests, PTI chief Imran Khan had accepted the formation of a commission on the Panama issue which Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had offered in April, he said speaking in a Pakistan Television programme.
Irfan Siddiqui said the people had rejected Imran's politics of allegations as evident from PML-N candidates' victory in by-elections, besides Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and local government polls.
The people were supporting the policies of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, he added. The adviser said the Prime Minister in today's cabinet meeting praised the people of the country for rejecting the politics of agitation and chaos.
The Prime Minister, he said, also mentioned that a high-level Chinese delegation was due in Islamabad but they changed their programme due to the PTI's protest, Irfan Siddiqui mentioned. He said aggressive statements by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak were deplorable.
Such remarks against the Federal government were criticized by the people, he added. Irfan Siddiqui said a political leader should be man of commitment but unfortunately Imran Khan had never honoured his words.
The PTI chief, he said, had agreed to accept the decision of judicial commission that was formed to investigate alleged rigging in 2014 general election but later he did not accept the court verdict.
Soon after revelation of Panama Papers, the Prime Minister presented himself for investigation and also offered to form a commission of the Supreme Court judges but the PTI had rejected it, he added.
