Says inviting Veena Malik to these shows is not piety
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd May, 2018) Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui went hard on tv show host Sahir Lodhi in a hearing over Ramzan transmissions on Wednesday.
Expressing anger over Sahir Lodhi, the IHC judge said that you should be ashamed; you make girls dance in your program. Targeting Veena Malik, Jutice Siddiqui asked if you call it piety to invite Veena Malik on the show.
IHC judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui fell into tears during the hearing.
The court, however, accepted the apology of anchors Sahir Lodhi and Nabeel while Aamir Liaquat’s matter has been handed over to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) after taking back the contempt of court notice.
The IHC had issued show cause notices of contempt of court to anchors hosting Ramzan shows despite court orders banning them. Issuing contempt of court notices, the court had sought them in personal capacity on May 23.
IHC judge Justice Siddiqui had said that no 'circus' or ‘Neelam Ghar’ will be allowed to be broadcast on TV this Ramazan in a hearing of the case concerning the implementation of the broadcast regulator's code of conduct for Ramzan transmissions and morning shows on television held on May 8.
