Some departments surpassed rules, regulations: observes LG Secretary

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Dec, 2018 ) :Sindh Secretary for Local Government Khalid Haider Shah Friday directed the heads of all concerned departments- who have not submitted details of 11 point questionnaire regarding conversion of residential plots into commercial- to submit the same in 24 hours to the joint committee formed by the Supreme Court mandated Water Commission.

The Secretary issued such directives while holding meeting of the officers of concerned departments along with Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch here at Shahbaz Building.

Among others, the management of Hyderabad Development Authority, Sindh Building Control Authority, Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Water and Sanitation Authority have submitted their response of the questionnaire along with the copies of the relevant laws, procedure of commercialization and the list of the granted no objection certificates however, those who still not submitted the same, should comply positively tomorrow, he remarked.

The secretary said that many of the departments which have not authority of issuing no objection certificate for conversion of residential plots into commercial had surpassed the rules and regulations in this regard.

The Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch observed that multi storied buildings constructed in residential plots which raised multiple issues including water supply, sewerage and privacy conflicts.

He asked the Regional Director Sindh Building Control Authority to clarify about the violation of the city master plan by granting no objection certificates for conversion of residential plots into commercial in such thickly populated areas where the roads have turned into streets.

The Municipal Commissioner Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Nasarullah Abbasi informed the meeting that Sindh Building Control Authority had granted permission for construction of 183 buildings without obtaining NOCs from HMC.

Sindh Secretary for Local Government along with the Commissioner Hyderabad and other officers of the concerned departments also visited various part of Hyderabad City and Latifabad. During the visit, he directed for removal of banners, billboards, encroachments, heaps of garbage and bushes at Autobahn Road with restoration of service road, footpath and dividers.

He also directed the representatives of Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry to construct the remaining part of drain nullah right from Autobahn Road to Darya Khan Pumping Station within three days with removal of encroachments from nullah.

The Secretary also visited the under construction site of the teaching medical college and hospital at Ganju Takkar being executed by Health Department at an area of 20 acres land.
