Three members UNDP delegation calls on IGP KP

A 3-member foreign delegation of United Nations Development Programme for Asia and Pacific called on the IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood at CPO Peshawar on Tuesday.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Oct, 2018 ) :A 3-member foreign delegation of United Nations Development Programme for Asia and Pacific called on the IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood at CPO Peshawar on Tuesday.

During the meeting different police initiatives particularly strengthening the capacity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police were discussed in detail.

The IGP briefed the delegation about recently introduced police reforms particularly police order 2017, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police training programme, courses and investigation skills.

The IGP further informed the delegation that a separate Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) equipped with all necessary facilities has been established and through this unit several hard core terrorists have been arrested.

They were also informed that separate gender desks have been established in almost all model police stations of the province where exclusively women folk complaints are being addressed.

The police chief also informed that due to community policing, better law and order prevail in the province as compared to rest of the provinces.

The members of the delegation were also told that murder and attempted murder cases have been dwindled down to 24 percent owing to the matchless performance of Dispute Resolution Councils in the province.

Likewise, Forensic Science Laboratories equipped with latest modern facilities have been established in Peshawar and Swat which are proving a milestone in improving and polishing the investigation skills of the investigation officers.

The IGP also informed the delegation that all available resources are being used judiciously for capacity building of the force jawans.

The members of the delegation commended the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police capacity building initiatives and assured for exploring more opportunities for assistance and cooperation.

The IGP thanked the delegation for their support and cooperation for combating terrorism.
