University Of Buner To Be Operational By March: Minister

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jan, 2017 ) : Provincial Minister for Zakat, Usher and Religious Affairs, Habibur Rehman said Tuesday that University of Buner would be fully operational by March with all modern educational facilities to facilitate students.
"The University of Buner was the long awaited demand of people of Buner district that was fulfilled by the present government," he said, adding work on the building was in full swing that would be completed by March 2017 at Sawari and would be opened for academic activities soon after its completion.
He said the Buner Campus of Abdul Wali Khan University has been upgraded to a full-fledged university on November 30, 2016. Presently, he said, post graduate classes of the university were underway in the Commerce College Building at Sawari.
The University is initially spread on 73 kanals and 14 marlas where 12 new academic departments including Pharmacy, Electronics, Sociology, English, Economics, Shariah and Law and Education would be started in addition to current ongoing departments of Zoology, Computer Science, Management Sciences and Political Science.
The Minister said a detailed PC-I for development of infrastructure, capacity building of faculty members and new academics blocks have been submitted to the Planning and Development Department for approval.
He said poor students of Buner district especially women left their education in complete because they can't afford fee of higher education in big cities due to financial constraints. He said this would help them to continue their higher studies and play role in development of the country.
The Minister said building of historical Masjid Mohabat Khan mosque would be repaired and renovated to restore its original architecture and ancient islamic designs. The construction of high rise buildings and plazas around mosque situated near Chowk e Yadgar Peshawar have affected the architectural and art designs of this ancient building that needed immediate repair and renovation works.
He said boundary-walls around graveyards would be constructed to protect it from encroachment.
