The actress surprises as to why the world is closing its eyes to what is happening in India.
KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 3rd, 2020) Pakistan popular actress and recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz Mehwish Hayat has also sought world attention towards what is Indian ruling Bhartia Janta Party (BJP) is doing with 200 million Muslims in India.
The Indian leaders are talking about genocide of Muslims at the moment when when the entire humanity at earth planet is fighting against COVID-19.
Taking to Twitter, the actress wrote expressed serious concerns on the current situation in India, particularly the situation of 200 million Muslims.
She wrote: “In today's day & age,how can a representative of the largest democracy in the world be allowed to get away with these comments. Why is the world closing its eyes to what is happening in India? This is exactly what Nazi Germany did. So what’s next for Muslims..extermination camps?!,”.
Two days ago, the Indian government led by Prime Minister Modi imposed another illegal law in Jammu and Kashmir that changed the disputed state’s Muslim Majority status.
World Kashmir Awareness Forum (WKAF), a prominent Washington-based advocacy organization, condemned Indian movie for the illegal law in Occupied valley.
In a statement issued on Friday, the forum called the ‘Jammu & Kashmir Reorganization Order, 2020’ “tendentious and politically motivated.”
Under it, the citizens of India will now be able to settle in and compete for jobs in the disputed territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The statement called the law a “wanton display of disregard for the aspiration of the Kashmiris that is aimed at constitutional entrenchment of a Hindu majoritarian agenda to dispossess the people of Kashmir.
“These cynical attempts to seize the opportunity and take advantage of the prevailing global circumstances are reflective of the toxic and fascist mindset of the Hindutva regime in New Delhi,” it said.
“With one voice,” WKAF said, “the Kashmiris across the globe have rejected these reprehensible attempts to change the demographic character of our nation, and resolved to counter India’s bigoted settler colonialism through peaceful resistance.
“The United Nations must remind India of the disputed nature of the occupied territory, and the need to implement the UN Security Council Resolutions on the issue,” the statement said.
“The BJP rulers in New Delhi must be reminded that their actions are in direct conflict with the Geneva Conventions and international law,” it said.
“The world community and the people of conscience must impress upon India that in a democracy, legitimacy flows only from the freely given consent of the governed.”
In his August 8 response to India’s annexation of Jammu and Kashmir, the forum referred to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres statement that the “the position of the United Nations on this region (Kashmir) is governed by the Charter of the United Nations and applicable Security Council resolutions.”
Therefore, India’s ‘Reorganization Order’ contravenes relevant that prohibit any unilateral action targeted at changing the disputed nature of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
