National Music Mela kicks off with Folk Music Night

Presenting a fusion of performances by various musical groups and artistes from across the country, Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) started a week long National Music Mela here late Friday with Folk Music Night to entertain the fun lovers of twin cities

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2019 ) :Presenting a fusion of performances by various musical groups and artistes from across the country, Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) started a week long National Music Mela here late Friday with Folk Music Night to entertain the fun lovers of twin cities.

The festival includes seven musical nights focusing on different genres of music including Classical, Folk, Pop, Qawwali, Sufi, Ghazal and Contemporary musical nights etc.The festival is segmented to all genres of music from across the country as every musical evening will entertain the music lovers with all day festivity along with culinary and cultural stalls accompanied by folk music and folk dances outdoors.

Singers, instrumentalists and musical groups will entertain the fun lovers of twincities with their popular melodious tunes including both vocals and instrumentals till April 25 providing the audience with quality entertainment experience.

In folk music night, artistes including Akhtar Channal, Zarsanga, Fazal Jutt, Qurban Niazi, Laila Jatti, Anwar Khayal, Naeem ul Hasan and Asma Rajpoot, enthralled the audience with their soul soothing melodies while the audience joined them in singing and dancing.

Ghulam Abbas, Humera Channa, Sara Reza Khan, Ejaz Qaiser Naseem Siddiqui, Saira Naseem, Nida Faiz, Sohail Randhawa, Sara Peters and Naseem Siddiqui will perform in Ghazal Night. In the segment of Pop music, Raaga Boys, Sara Peters, Noman and Jia, Umair Jaswal, Usman Raees, Bakhshi Brothers and Khumaryan will enthrall the audience.

Ustad Fateh Ali Khan Hyderabadi, Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan, Ejaz Tawakkul, Nafees Ahmed/Sitar, Shujaat Ali Khan/ Sham Chorassi and Badruzzaman will show their talent in classical nights.

Joji Ali Khan, Amjad on Tabla, Akhter Sharif Roop Walay, Abu Mohammad Qawwal, Shazad Santoo Khan and Nadeem Jameel and the Qawwal will perform in Qawwali night. Humera Arshad, Awais Niazi, Anwar Rafi, Sarah Tahir, Farrukh Mehdi and Salma Khan will entertain the audience in the category of Filmi/ Contemporary music. While Manzoor Solangi, Gulshan Jahan, Masooma Anwar and Sain Khawar will bring their melodies for fun lovers in Sufi musical evening.

Speaking on the occasion, Director General PNCA, Jamal Shah said PNCA placed music as most important discipline of art and working for it's promotion.

Music is a strong medium of communication as it has a unique place in the performing arts with reflection of cultural heritage of specific regions. Besides giving quality entertainment to Islooites, the event will also promote healthy activities among the youngsters and revive the traditional musical heritage with theme of promoting peace, love and harmony.

Such events play an important role in supporting the established and upcoming artistes and engage the audience in positive activities through artistic expressions, said the organizers.
