Int'l Coaches Visit To Softball Asia Coaching Clinic To Promote Sports: POA President

Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) President Lieutenant General (Retd.) Syed Arif Hassan on Tuesday said that the upcoming visit of international qualified coaches to Softball Asia Pakistan Coaching Clinic would promote sports in the country
In a meeting with Softball Federation of Pakistan Chairperson Tehmina Asif, President Haider Khan and Secretary General Asif Azeem, he said that POA would fully cooperate and support the Softball Federation for the said mega event, according to a press release issued here.
Syed Arif Hassan said the visit of World Baseball Softball Confederation Secretary General Dato Low Beng Choo was of utmost importance as it would pave the way for the international events in the country.
He said that the hosting of coaching clinic in the country was first of its kind at the regional level.
POA President said, "Our mission is to flourish the talent of our youth for which our topmost priority is provision of equal opportunities to male and female in sports".
General (Retd.) Syed Arif Hassan also praised the efforts of office bearers of Softball Federation of Pakistan.
Softball Federation of Pakistan Chairperson Tehmina Asif on the occasion said that the coaches of departmental, provincial teams and players which performed better at the national level championships would be provided opportunities in Softball Asia Pakistan Coaching Clinic.
She said all available resources would be utilized to train our coaches and players to make them compete at international level.
Tehmina said that the federation would try to organize matches with neighbouring countries including Iran, Iraq and Nepal this year.
Softball Federation of Pakistan office bearers on the occasion also handed over a souvenir to the POA President.
