Mahin Wins Ladies Tennis

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jan, 2017 ) : Mahin Aftab outplayed Sarah Mahboob in the final of the Bank Al-Falah Ladies National Tennis 2017 that concluded here at PTF Complex on Friday.
Mahin proved to be the find of the tournament as she bagged four titles to her name during the tournament. Fifteen years old Mahin continued her brilliant run during the tournament as she thrashed experienced Sarah in Ladies Singles final to win her maiden ladies exclusive title.
Mahin's score remained 6-4 and 6-4 and she was awarded the highest ever ladies winner prize money in the history of Pakistan tennis which was Rs 75,000 with certificate and a trophy. Sarah pocketed Rs 45,000 with runners-up trophy.
Earlier Mahin, pairing with Ahmed Ch won Mixed Doubles title after beating Meheq khokhar and her partner Malik Abdul Rehman in straight sets. Winning pair received prize money of Rs 8,000 and their runners up counterparts bagged Rs 4,000.
It may be mentioned here that Mahin had already won Girls U-18 and Ladies Doubles titles on Thursday. A total of Rs 310,000 were distributed among the players during the tournament which is a national record in Pakistan's tennis history.
Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, Senior Vice President Asian Tennis Federation and Patron Pakistan Tennis Federation graced the occasion as chief guest. He appreciated Subh-e-Nau's service for the game of tennis and said that this brings positive competition among youth.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Shahida Kausar Farooq, Chairperson Subh-e-Nau said that SN has always promoted sports to bring positivity in the society. She appealed the parents to bring their children in active physical sports. Ladies Singles (Final): Mahin Aftab beat Sarah Mahboob 6-4,6- 4. Mixed Doubles (Final): Mahin Aftab, Ahmed Ch beat Meheq Khiokhar, Malik Abdul Rehman 6-2,6-3.
