National cricketers to play matches in Quetta

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -17th Sept,2016) : Legend national cricketers including Javed Miandad, Moeen Khan, Omar Akmal, Muhammad Asif, Aamir Sohail and others will play cricket matches of All Pakistan-Balochistan T-20 Cricket Tournament under auspices of the Frontier Corps Balochistan.

Speaking to media persons at FC Headquarters Quetta, here on Saturday, Deputy Inspector General, FC Balochistan, Brig. Zahid Khan and Col. Muhammad Aazam said that FC has been organizing cricket tournaments every year which were participated by local teams of Balochistan, teams from all major cities of the country and legend national cricketers.

They said that they were also in touch with national cricketer, Shahid Afridi for ensuring his participation in the cricket tournament. National Cricketer, Nasir Jamshed has already arrived in Quetta, they said.

Total 36 cricket teams including 21 from districts of Balochistan and 15 from major cities of the country including Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar have been participating in the tournament.

Twelve pools were formed and every pool comprises of three teams.

The cricket matches between the pools have been started from September 16. The inaugural ceremony of the tournament will be held at Ayyub Stadium Quetta on September 24 and the concluding ceremony on September 30.

Famous artists and singers including Akhtar Channal, Gul Panra, Sidra Iqbal and others will show their performance in the ceremonies. Rubab Master, Nawazish Nasiri, Benjo Master, Fareed Baloch and others folk music artists will demonstrate their skills on their musical instruments.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri, Inspector General FC Balochistan, Maj-General. Sher Afgun will be chief guests of the inaugural and concluding ceremonies. "We want to provide positive entertainment to people of Balochistan, especially Quetta by holding cricket tournament, musical programs and other festivals," the senior FC officials said.
