MEXICO CITY (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th November, 2018) Argentine President Mauricio Macri has promised that the government would harshly respond to two attacks in the capital of the country before the G20 summit, which will begin on November 30.
Earlier in the day, local media reported that a bag containing an explosive device was thrown into the property of Federal Judge Claudio Bonadio in Buenos Aires, who has headed a number of high-profile investigations. Several hours before that suspected anarchists reportedly detonated a bomb at the iconic Recoleta cemetery.
"It should be now clear more than ever we will act with the full power of the law. We will not accept such violent acts. [Those responsible] will have to pay for their consequences. We must banish such violence from our society," Macri said, as quoted by Nacion news portal.
According to the president, these events have attracted the attention of the state and Argentine Security Minister Patricia Bullrich is working on these cases. Macri assured that the authorities had adopted a serious plan to maintain security at the upcoming G20 summit.
A 26 year-old man was arrested after throwing an explosive device into Bonadio's house, however the bomb did not explode. In the second incident a woman, 33 and her partner were arrested at the crime scene in Recoleta on Wednesday. The bomb detonated at woman's hands and she was hospitalized with serious burns. According to reports, the anarchists were seeking to target the tomb of Coronel Radon L. Falcon, murdered in 1909. At least 10 more people were detained in connections with these events.
