Both Sides To Intra-Yemeni Talks View Stockholm Agreement As 'Good One' - UN Envoy

Both the Yemeni government and Houthi rebels view the agreement reached during the recent intra-Yemeni talks in Stockholm as a "good one" and are willing to implement its provisions, UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths told Sputnik on Friday
In December, the UN-mediated discussions in Sweden between Yemen's warring parties concluded with an agreement to cease hostilities in and withdraw forces from the port of Al Hudaydah. The parties also agreed to create a UN-chaired monitoring committee in addition to establishing humanitarian corridors to the city of Taizz, as well as exchange more than 4,000 prisoners of war.
"Earlier this week, I was in Sanaa, and then in Riyadh. I met [Yemeni] President [Abdrabbuh Mansur] Hadi in Riyadh and I meet [Houthi leader] Elsayed Abdelmalek in Sanaa, both said exactly the same thing that they firmly believe that Sweden agreement is a good one and they want to implement it. So that was incredibly encouraging," Griffiths said.
