Estonian President To Temporarily Move Her Office To Russian-Speaking Town - Statement

TALLINN (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 28th August, 2018) Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid will temporarily move to the Russian-speaking town of Narva on Tuesday in order to show that the nation �appreciates� the town's community, her press service said in a statement.
Last year, Kaljulaid vowed to move her office to the town, located near the border with Russia, for a month to demonstrate that �the Estonian community, Estonian society is present in Narva.
� Russian language is native to 96 percent of Narva's population.
�This autumn, the president will work in Narva for a total of one month with intervals. This time, she will work in Narva for 10 days. The officials of the Chancellery - advisers, director of the office, officers for instructions, will move with the president,� the statement read.
Kaljulaid is set to meet with local authorities, residents and attend a number of public events over the next two weeks, according to the statement.
