India 17-2 against England in 2nd Test

London, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Aug, 2018 ) :India were 17 for two in their second innings, a deficit of 272 runs, when rain forced an early lunch on the fourth day of the second Test against England at Lord's on Sunday.

James Anderson became the first bowler to take 100 Test wickets at Lord's when he had Murali Vijay caught behind for a duck.

And at lunch the England paceman had figures of two wickets for eight runs in five overs after KL Rahul, India's other opener, was lbw for 10.

Cheteshwar Pujara was five not out and Ajinkya Rahane one not out, with India captain Virat Kohli unable to bat in his regular number four position because of a stiff back.

Earlier, England added 39 runs to their overnight 357 for six before captain Joe Root declared their first innings on 396 for seven when Sam Curran, who made a brisk 40, sliced Hardik Pandya to third man.

Chris Woakes was 137 not out, the Warwickshire all-rounder having completed his maiden Test century on Saturday.

England lead this five-match series 1-0 after a 31-run win in the first Test at Edgbaston last week.
