A military police unit from Russia's autonomous republic of Ingushetia has departed for a fourth peacekeeping mission in Syria, Ingushetia head Yunus-Bek Yevkurov said on Saturday

NALCHIK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th January, 2019) A military police unit from Russia's autonomous republic of Ingushetia has departed for a fourth peacekeeping mission in Syria, Ingushetia head Yunus-Bek Yevkurov said on Saturday.

"A military police unit has been sent to the Syrian Arab Republic to carry out specific tasks.

It is not the first time when our servicemen are carrying out their duties with honor and showing great military training," Yevkurov wrote on Instagram.

The third peacekeeping mission in Syria involving a military police battalion from Ingushetia took place in May.

Russia has been supporting the Syrian authorities in their fight against terrorism. Moreover, Russia alongside Iran and Turkey is the guarantor state of the Syrian ceasefire regime. Moscow also provides various kinds of humanitarian assistance to Syrians.
