Russian Ambassador to Syria Alexander Efimov said Saturday that the work to resume the functioning of the Russian center for science and culture in Damascus is underway

DAMASCUS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd March, 2019) Russian Ambassador to Syria Alexander Efimov said Saturday that the work to resume the functioning of the Russian center for science and culture in Damascus is underway.

"We are working on the implementation of a number of culturally significant projects, first of all, on the prompt resumption of the activities of our cultural center in Damascus," Efimov said.

The Russian center of in Damascus was closed in 2013 due to the escalation of the armed conflict in Syria. At the beginning of 2014, the activities of the center were partially resumed, but then suspended again.
