DAGP To Finalize Audit Reports Of Accounts Of FY 2018-19 By Feb 2019

The Department of the Auditor General of Pakistan (DAGP) would finalize the audit reports of accounts of financial year 2017-2018 by the month of February 2019 and submitted to the president to lay them before the Parliament for discussion in Public Accounts Committee.
A statement issued by the DAGP here Tuesday said presently, DAGP is executing audit of accounts and expenditure of various governmental organizations for the financial year 2018-2019.
Additionally, DAGP is conducting performance audit and special studies of various public sector organizations, projects and programs.
Currently, DAGP is carrying out a number of special audits and special studies on the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan and on the requests of different ministries and would continue to serve the nation by promoting accountability, transparency and good governance in the management and use of public resources through objective, unbiased and neutral feedback to the Parliament.
It further said DAGP is the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of the country for promoting public accountability, fiscal transparency and good governance. The work of the Department augments legislative oversight by members of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament).
The auditor general of Pakistan (AGP) is enabled by the mandate given to him in the Constitution and subsidiary legislation to carry out an independent and objective assessment of financial discipline, internal controls and governmental operations to minimize the possibility of waste and fraud and to submit report thereon and on governance.
The AGP conducts audit of various ministries, departments, entities of Federal, Provincial and Local governments autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, under the powers conferred by Article 170 of the Constitution. DAGP prepares its annual Audit Plan for every preceding financial year regularly and executes audit activity accordingly.
