Gazprom, RusGasDobycha to Implement Large LNG/LPG Project in Leningrad Region - Statement

Russia's PJSC Gazprom and JSC RusGasDobycha agreed on Friday to start the implementation of a project that envisions the construction of a large facility near the city of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad Region to process ethane-containing gas and to produce liquefied natural gas (LNG), Gazprom said

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 29th March, 2019) Russia's PJSC Gazprom and JSC RusGasDobycha agreed on Friday to start the implementation of a project that envisions the construction of a large facility near the city of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad Region to process ethane-containing gas and to produce liquefied natural gas (LNG), Gazprom said.

According to Gazprom, the facility is estimated to have annual processing capacity of 45 billion cubic meters of gas. It will produce and ship annually 13 million metric tons of LNG, as well as up to 4 mln metric tons of ethane and more than 2.

2 mln metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

"The commissioning of the first stage of the plant is scheduled for the second half of 2023, while the second stage will become operational by the end of 2024," the company said in a statement.

"...Investments in the project are expected to be in the amount of more than 700 billion rubles [some $10.7 bln]. ...The launch of the enterprise will allow to increase the Russian export of LNG, as well as LPG, by 30-40 percent," the statement said.
