KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Nov, 2017 ) :Trade Development Authority of Pakistan has informed all current as well as potential exporters to the European Union, Switzerland, and Norway to get themselves registered with REX system by completing requisite formalities with the TDAP as soon as possible.
TDAP statement said on Friday that per EU regulations for GSP-plus beneficiary countries, Pakistan was required to completely switch to the EU's REX (Registered Exporters) System for origin certification up to December 31, 2017.
Accordingly, issuance of certificate of origin by TDAP for the GSP schemes of the EU, Switzerland, and Norway would cease by the end of the year.
Only REX registered exporters would subsequently be able to issue Statements On Origin (SOO) themselves in respect of their shipments to these countries.
TDAP was regularly organizing orientation/ training seminars on REX in major export cities of the country for the benefit of the exporters. Trade bodies interested in arranging such seminars for their members might urgently contact the TDAP.
Complete details for getting registered under the REX system are available at TDAP's website www.tdap.gov.pk under the banner "REX System of EU-GSP".
