US Stocks Gain On Deluge Of Solid Earnings

Wall Street stocks rose early Tuesday following a trove of mostly good earnings from Coca-Cola, Twitter and others
About 40 minutes into trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 26,570.94, up 0.2 percent.
The broad-based S&P 500 gained 0.3 percent to 2,917.25, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index jumped 0.6 percent to 8,059.49.
A dizzying array of companies reported results early Tuesday.
Standouts included Dow-component Coca-Cola, which rose 2.
4 percent after reporting better-than-expected results due in part to strong sales of its Coca-Cola Zero Sugar diet soda.
Twitter surged 13.6 percent after reporting that profits more than tripled to $191 million as it notched modest user growth.
Other big movers following results included toymaker Hasbro, which soared 15.5 percent, Dow-member United Technologies, which gained 3.9 percent.
Meanwhile, Procter & Gamble, another Dow-component, lost 2.3 percent.
