WB launches 20-day stop stunting campaign

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -22nd Sep,2016) : The World Bank has launched a 20-day on-line campaign: #StopStunting to create awareness of this critical issue that affects almost every second child in Pakistan.

The campaign kick started with a message from Jim Yong Kim, World Bank Group President.

According to a statement of World Bank, there is a range of products including videos, animate memes, podcast, quotes from key development partners (UN, INGOs, civil society and donors) which it would post throughout this 20-day campaign.

The World Bank has asked the social media users to share, retweet and take part in this initiative that has a profound impact on Pakistan's future. Meanwhile, WB Country Director, Pakistan Oatchamuthu Illangovan tweeted that almost every second child in Pakista is stunted and the WB estimates suggest that the stunted child would earn 20 per cent less than a non-stunted individual.
