The Secretary Livestock & Dairy Development Department Punjab MrNadeemIrshadKayani paid a visit of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore`s Ravi Campus Pattoki on Wednesday
LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jan, 2020) The Secretary Livestock & Dairy Development Department Punjab MrNadeemIrshadKayani paid a visit of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore`s Ravi Campus Pattoki on Wednesday.
Meanwhile a detailed meeting was held at seminar room inAkram Complex Ravi Campus. Secretary Livestock NadeemIrshadKayani presided over the meeting while Vice-Chancellor Prof DrMasoodRabbani, UVAS senior faculty members and officials from Livestock Department were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Livestock took interest in internship programme of studentfor their professional capacity building. He urged to strengthen Livestock Department farms as a demonstration farms where researchers and post graduate students can get maximum knowledge and skills. He suggested to made strong liaison with private sector for students internship regarding to theirs fields in poultry, dairy and livestock. He said veterinarian must know about the analytical skills and report writing skills. He also sought suggestions and identifying opportunities in China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CEPC) for livestock sector. Secretary Livestock appreciated UVAS state-of-the-art facilities, quality of education & research.
Earlier Prof DrMasoodRabbanigave presentation about the work plan and methodology of project including livestock information management center, disease control for OIE compliance, livestock product development center, livestock entrepreneur and human resource development.He said in future Ravi CampusPattoki want to promote as technology based agro-livestock tourism place where professionals know how for clear misconception about poultry feed and meat, wildlife and pet breeding facilities, educational planned visit of collages & universities students and demonstrating whole process of livestock raising from crop production, feed formulation, quality testing, feeding practices, milk and meat production and value edition& processing.He also mentionedRavi campus state of the art facilities like Central Laboratories Complex (CLC), Ostrich Farms, Zoological Museum, wildlife cages &Fish Hatchery, civic engagement, Vaccine production unit, Milk plant, Clinics (clinical Centrum) and Foreign Faculty Hostels etc.
Later Secretary Livestock visited along with UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof DrMasoodRabbani in various section of Prof Dr Muhammad Akram Educational Complex including its auditorium hall and library. Duringvisit he talked to students in Library and planted a sapling infront of Akram Complex.
