Excessive Use Of Social Media On Android Sets Causes Health Hazards

The health experts, in a panel discussion, expressed their concerns over excessive use of social media on mobile phones which causes depression, anxiety and sleeping issue beside a weaker bonds among the people.
Talking to a private news channel, a Psychologist of Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi, Dr Sajid said there was a significant increase in the psychiatric patients these days.
He said people are suffering from psychiatric problem due to social media usage more than 14 hours a day.
Spending too much time on the social media, was a serious threat to the mental and emotional health of the people, he added.
An Eye Specialist of Shifa International Hospital Dr Nazir Ahamad said one of the main reason of weak eyesight among youth, especially school going children, was television and mobile phone exposure.
Watching television or using social media on android cellular set continuously, he said people, particularly children forget to blink their eyes in a proper way, resultantly they complained about their blurry vision.
