Four-day Anti Polio Campaign Launched In Swat

Four-day anti-polio campaign launched here on Saturday in which 4,78382 children under the age of five years would be vaccinated
Meeting on the preparation of polio campaign was held under Deputy Commissioner Swat Saqib Raza Aslam at his office in Gulkada Saidu Sharif. Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Fadad Khan, DHO Ghulam Subhani, EPI Coordinator, National Immunization Officer, Assistant Commissioners of all Tehsils, Senior officers and representatives of the education, health, police and other concerned departments were present on the occasion.
DC Swat was informed about the campaign and told that preparations for all administrative affairs have been completed for this drive.
The officers were directed that they should work with the national passion for the eradication of polio so that our country could get rid of this deadly disease.
They expressed satisfaction that no polio case was reported in Swat and adjoining districts for last so many years.
However, he said, the district administration was very sensitive in this regard keeping the emergence of polio case in Bajaur. Hence, he said, it was decided that all the departments and concerned officers will perform this national duty with their full preparation.
He further cautioned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against the teams who found negligence in immunizing children against this chronic disease. So that no child remaindeprived of the vaccine, he added. DC specially directed all AssistantCommissioners to make sure the monitoring and evening meetings regularly.
