Congo virus was found in an Afghan refugee who is working as a butcher in Boni area, health department confirmed on Saturday.
CHITRAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Dec, 2018 ) : Congo virus was found in an Afghan refugee who is working as a butcher in Boni area, health department confirmed on Saturday.
District Health Officer Dr. Iftikharuddin said that an Afghan refugee Sabir Noori, who belong to Pansher of Afghanistan and settled at Booni Chitral, a meat seller was found congo affected.
He said that suspected congo virus case was reported to a local hospital and sent the samples of patients twice to Peshawar for laboratory test and found positive.
Taking notice of the case, Assistant Commissioner Mastuj, Inayatullah sealed two butcher shops in Booni bazaar in presence of Medical Superintendent of the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) Booni.
The butcher's were directed to get all their family members tested in the THQ or other hospitals.
On confirmation of Congo virus in Afghan refugee, people of Chitral felt fear and demanded from authorities to send special medical teams to ascertain and diagnose other people living in surrounding to overcome spread of this virus.
