Usman Buzdar Approves Up-gradation Of RIC To PCVI

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has approved up-gradation of the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology(RIC) to "Pakistan Cardiac and Vascular Institute"(PCVI) here Wednesday
During his visit to RIC,the Chief Minister said that provision of best health facilities to the people at their doorstep was the top priority of the Punjab government and the residents would witness a visible change in health sector as PTI government is endeavoring to provide maximum medical facilities to the masses.
Speaking on the occasion. Executive Director RIC, Maj Gen Azhar Mahmood Kayani briefed the CM about the progress of RIC and its future plans.
The ED informed that RIC was the first and the only cardiac center in Pakistan which performed acute brain stroke interventions, reversing the paralysis of stroke patients,adding RIC was also performing vascular procedures to prevent limb amputations and brain stroke.
Kayani said that RIC was committed to provide state of the art service to all patients specially to those who can not afford it.
Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology was the most apposite hospital to be upgraded and renamed as "Pakistan Cardiac and Vascular Institute", whereby all vascular diseases would be treated under one roof including cardiology, vascular surgery, interventional radiology, neurology and neurosurgery.
The ED claimed that in the coming years the RIC hospital would be ranked the best hospital of the country and would be the first of its kind in Pakistan.
