280,000 children to be vaccinated against polio from Aug 6 in D.I.Khan

Commissioner D.I.Khan Division Javed Marwat Thursday chaired a review meeting to finalize arrangements for three-day anti-polio campaign to be launched on August 6 to vaccinate about 280,000 children up to the age of five years across the district.

DIKHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Aug, 2018 ) :Commissioner D.I.Khan Division Javed Marwat Thursday chaired a review meeting to finalize arrangements for three-day anti-polio campaign to be launched on August 6 to vaccinate about 280,000 children up to the age of five years across the district.

The Commissioner said it was not responsibility only of the government to prevent the deadly diseases, but each of the individual of the society should share his responsibility to make the entire zone completely polio-free.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Noor Alam Mehsood, Additional Deputy Commissioner South Waziristan Agency, AC Dera, District Health Officers Dera and Tank, officials of EPI and WHO and other relevant officials were present on the occasion.

The meeting was informed that 310 area in-charge about 1200 mobile teams, 72 fixed and 108 transit teams had been constituted to administer polio drops to children at houses or other places including bus terminals, exit and entry points and markets.

The Commissioner asked law enforcement agencies to put in place tight security measures to provide protection to the polio team personnel to perform the job in a peaceful manner. He also directed the staff deployed for the campaign to leave no stone unturned to reach out each children and administer anti-polio drops.
