LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Oct, 2017 ) :The agriculture department has so far distributed 800,000 seed packets of vegetables to people under the Kitchen Gardening Programme. A spokesman for the agriculture department said this on Wednesday.
He said the under this programme distribution was started from 2011-12 and still the implementation on the project was in progress.
He said in winter season during year 2016-17, 100,000 packets had been distributed while in summer season during 2016-17 50,000 packets had been distributed.
For the winter season of 2017-18, 110,000 packets were being distributed at 325 sale points in the province at a concessional rate of Rs 50 each packet, he added. He said vegetables which could be grown through kitchen gardening in winter season include carrot, spinach, daikon, turnip, cabbage, mustard, fenugreek and others.
