Akon Wants Pakistanis To Donate For Dams

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th January, 2018) American singer Akon who is due to visit Pakistan to kick off World Soccer stars event has a special message for Pakistan.
In a video message, Akon urged all Pakistanis to support the construction of dams as the country’s water reserves are drying up.
In the video shared by World Soccer Stars on Twitter, Akon said, “This is a special message to all Pakistanis around the world.”
Citing a United Nations report, he said the water resources in the country will dry up by 2025.
Therefore, the iconic singer asked all Pakistanis living in the country and overseas to support the Diamer and Bhasha dam so Pakistan can move towards a better future.

“International celebrities touring Pakistan isn’t a far-fetched notion anymore.
PTI SMT warmly welcomes renowned singer Akon to the Land of Hospitality, the Land of Pakistan,” it added.
Akon, known for his popular songs Smack That and Lonely, will perform at the World Soccer Stars event to be held in Pakistan.
According to media reports, the Grammy award-winning R&B artist will perform at the openning of the event from April 26-29.
