Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan Discusses Overall Development Strategy With Opposition

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan here on Tuesday held a meeting with the parliamentary leaders in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly at Chief Minister's House.
The meeting discussed at length the overall developmental strategy of the province that included the ongoing schemes of education, health and irrigation, dualization of Indus Highway, motorway from Peshawar to Karachi, Bypasses, Swat Motorway, CPEC related projects including Chashma lift irrigation scheme D.I.Khan, the extension of public sector entities to the newly merged districts, schemes in road communications, colleges, small dams, chairman DDAC, umbrella scheme, class-iv appointment, tourism and industrialization in the province.
The parliamentary leaders presented a set of proposals related to the District Development Advisory Council (DDAC) chairmanships of different districts, share of the opposition in the umbrella scheme, the class-iv employees and posting and transfers in the Constituencies of MPAs and other privileges.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister assured to evolve a clear and implementable strategy for the genuine proposals and suggestions of the parliamentary leaders.
He said that he would maintain the healthy traditions in order to relief to the people, he added. He said that education and health will continue to be the priority areas of his government but simultaneously it would focus on widening the fiscal base of the province and strictly follow the austerity drive. There would be no whimsical decisions but resources would be spent on the public welfare, prosperity and development of the province. Transparency and merit would be upheld, he assured.
The Chief Minister said that he had recently had a meeting with the Chairman Higher Education for the allocation of resources at the disposal of provincial government because the provincial government can better understand the needs and requirements of different educational institutions and as such allocation to such institutions should be demand and need driven.
He assured to look into the proposal of establishing the female campus of Hazara University in the sprawling building with vast areas in Jabba Mansehra. He assured to convene a meeting of Commissioner Hazara and Deputy Commissioner Manshera to remove the hurdles in the allotment of residential plots to the earthquake stricken victims of Balakot at Bakarial city. He also assured to resolve the problems in the Voucher System of elementary education foundation.
Mahmood Khan said his government was committed to completing the near to completion schemes in the first go and the rest would be taken in hand for completion after the transfer of resources of the share of the province of NFC and net hydel net profit etc . There will be a uniform developmental strategy and each and every area would get its due share in the developmental strategy. He said that the merger of new districts in the province has brought along new challenges but we have a matching preparedness. The provincial government has already extended the services of some of the public sector entities to the new districts and the rest would be taken care of gradually, he added.
He appreciated the gesture of opposition adding that we all are on one and the same page on the CPEC related projects assuring to take concrete steps for launching the Chashma lift irrigation scheme and royalty on marble industry to Buner district.
He said that tourism is their priority area which has the potential to become the foundation of provincial economy that he termed to be a realistic step towards jobs generation, putting the province on economic development and bringing overall prosperity for the province. He assured the extension of BS classes throughout the province. He assured to have a high level meeting soon in order to properly assess the fiscal base of the province that would be the baseline for accommodating the suggestions of the opposition, he added.
