He made these remarks while presiding over a joint meeting of traders community, civil society representatives and government officials. The DCO said anti encroachment drive would enhance both aesthetic profile of the city and provide easy access to the consumers to the shopping markets in Bahawalpur city.
The DCO while addressing the meeting said that local administration has plan to establish modern food street to convert Circular Road into a Model Avenue and to install traffic signals at important squares of the city.
He said that effective measures are underway to expand and beautify Shahi Bazar situated in an inner most part of Farid Gate. "Bahawalpur Waste Management Company has the capacity to handle 86 percent of garbage of the city and its capacity would be enhanced to dispose of 100 percent garbage within the next 3 months", DCO noted.
He said local committees would be constituted which would supervise the cleanliness and beautification process both for the internal and external parts of the city.
