MULTAN, July 6 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Jul, 2017 ) : Commissioner Bilal Ahmad Butt Thursday ordered formation of a joint task force to launch a crackdown against illegal slaughter houses besides deployment of officials at all entry points of the city to check and register entry of diseased animals.
Presiding over a meeting here, the commissioner observed that illegal slaughter houses were the main factor behind chocked drains in walled city area. He said that the joint task force should comprise officials from Livestock department, Police, District administration and Municipal Corporation.
Bilal Butt said that officials of Livestock and Municipal Corporation would be deputed at all the entry points of the city where they would check the animals. These officials would stamp the animals and register the ailing animals to plug chances of sale of diseased animals' meat in the city.
Commissioner also ordered Deputy Director Food Ijaz Nawaz to check all the bakeries and food points and the quality of eatables there. He warned that no one would be allowed to sell substandard or adulterated food items and violators would face legal action.
Canteens at public places including educational institutions, hospitals, railway stations and other points should also be checked, he said. Officials informed the commissioner that a list of business places including marriage halls had been prepared for inspection.
Additional Commissioner Coordination Sarfraz Ahmad, assistant commissioners Mubashir Ur Rehman and Rana Akhlaq Ahmad were also present.
